Vibratory Conveyor Machinery

Vibratory conveyors comprise a metal trough or tube set at a slight angle which transports products by vibrating the metal trough or tube. These conveyors can convey powders, moderately free-flowing solids and sticky substances as well. They are frequently used to spread the product in an even layer to aid movement, handling and filling.

What are the advantages of vibratory conveyors?

Vibratory conveyors are durable and low maintenance machines with high throughput capacity. Oscillations maintain product flow, without damaging the product, by using the minimum amount of force. The oscillations are aided by gravity in installations where the conveyor is inclined.

The equipment is relatively quiet, and can be specified in custom configurations with extensive options on controls. Maintenance requirements are much lower than for belt conveyors as the result of using a stainless steel trough. Belts need regular replacement whereas troughs do not. Troughs are also far easier to clean and are frequently used in environments where hygiene is a priority, such as in packing lines handling food.

What are the uses of vibratory conveyors?

Vibratory conveyors are highly adaptable and efficient for moving multiple materials across a processing or packaging plant. They are particularly suitable for handling powders, solids and mixed materials which are too delicate or difficult to handle by belt or screw conveyors. That includes crumbly solids or sticky particles which would stick together in screw, pneumatic or belt conveyors.

Food products, including delicate items, which can be handled efficiently by vibration conveyors include:

  • Cereal
  • Cheese
  • Confectionery
  • Frozen and chilled food
  • Meat, fish and poultry
  • Fresh fruit and vegetables

In addition, these conveyors are used to transport dense, solid matter too, including:

  • Gravel
  • Pellets
  • Metal parts
  • Rubber and plastics

Vibratory conveyors for recycling and waste recovery

Vibrating conveyors are widely used to move and sort recyclable and waste materials. The vibrating motion can be used to separate multiple types of waste material including glass, wood offcuts, aggregates, plastics, textiles, paper, shredded tyres and more.

Additional vibrating or trommel screens can separate solid waste by size, from fine grains to larger fragments and stones. Vibrating equipment significantly increases the speed and efficiency of waste handling and recycling processes.
