Interchangeable workheads and screens in a range of rotor/stator mixers are delivering user versatility

Silverson Machines has released a new video that answers user queries about its mixers, particularly the range of interchangeable workheads and screens.

The video demonstrates how the vigorous mixing action provided by the General Purpose Disintegrating Head makes it ideal for disintegration of solids, while the fine perforations in Emulsor Screens provide a fine globule size, ensuring stability in emulsions.

Other workheads and screens are available, such as the Slotted Head and Square Hole High Shear Screen, and their uses are also explained in this video.

These easily interchangeable workheads offer great versatility by allowing any machine to be adapted to perform a wide range of mixing operations including emulsifying, homogenising, disintegrating, dissolving, dispersing, blending, particle size reduction and de-agglomerating. Changing from one head or screen to another is quick and simple, allowing manufacturers to use a single mixer in place of several pieces of mixing equipment. This is beneficial to those with limited space or capital, or for those that manufacture a variety of products.

A full range of workheads is available for every rotor/stator mixer in the Silverson range including in-tank, bottom entry, and In-Line mixers as well as powder/liquid mixers. This makes scale up a simple process, says the company. Laboratory scale screens and workheads are built to the same fine tolerances as Silverson production scale mixers, so when being used for research and development, results are comparable once the process has been scaled up to full production.

In-Line models can be supplied with multistage configurations, allowing users to fine tune their mixing results depending on the particular application.
